(the final strip)
Growing up, my three best friends were Jim Davis, Gary Larson, and my ultimate favorite, Bill Watterson.
I have spent long hours poring over Calvin and Hobbes books. Watterson’s imagination is one of the best. His characters are highly expressive, and even inanimate objects, like the family television, seem to have a life of their own. Past all the humorous antics of a cynical 5 year old, at times there is great depth and poignancy in these comic strips (remember when the house gets robbed and Hobbes disappears?).
Sadly, all my Watterson books disappeared too. Perhaps a magical fairy will bestow this upon me:
Ahhhh. Swoon.
