Float // Pony Club Gallery

November is an exciting month.  It marks the beginning of my new membership with a rad Portland gallery, the Pony Club.  I’ve been a long-time admirer of the gallery ever since I first stepped foot in 2007, and now I’m joining ranks with some very talented local artists.  My fellow members include:

Jennifer Parks

Keith Carter

Amy Kuttab

Erin McCarty

As a member of the collective, I’ll be regularly contributing new works to each monthly show, as well hosting my own solo show and a curated group show.

The Pony Club Gallery is a friend to local artists and a big supporter of the comics community.  I’m very happy to be welcomed into this little family.

That being said, I just finished up a new piece for the HAUNTED show, which opens next Thursday!

Here is a rough draft with an edgy old-timey Instagram filter.  Fancy.

Progress.

And, finally:

Float” addresses my fear of drowning.  I dunno about you, but the idea of drowning gives me anxiety.  I may have been haunted by one or two nightmares about it.  At least this little lady got to do it in style, with a billowy cloak emblazoned with a giant eyeball.

See you wolvies next Thursday!
