Tonight is the opening of my first curated show at the Pony Club Gallery, “Dead Man’s Party”. Inspired by both the Jim Jarmusch film “Dead Man” (oh, Johnny Depp) and the song “Dead Man’s Party” by Oingo Boingo, each artist has created their own special interpretation of the theme.
I’m very proud of this stellar lineup, which features both established artists and brand new talent!
For my own contribution, I painted my first oil piece in years:
Oil on Wood

The show starts tonight at 6pm at the Pony Club Gallery! More information here at our event page.
See you kids there!
Last weekend wrapped up dozens of events for Design Week Portland with the closing party hosted by WeMake. Not only did they feature an awesome SketchXchange with Laika director Nelson Lowry, the event showcased a silent art auction called Put A Bird in It, in which talented artists flexed their creative muscles on some pretty amazing birdhouses.
‘scuse my lack of real camera pictures.
So much good stuff to listen to and look at, and tons of good peoples came out to celebrate the end of Design Week.
AND to top it off, limited edition silkscreen posters were created by ten artists – and I was lucky enough to be one of them.
Just lookit that little fox. He’s pretty handsome. And for my first ever silkscreen design (three colors, mind you), I’m pretty pleased with the results.
Not only that, but the 9 other amazing artists put out some spectacular posters too. Check em out.
AND, double not only that, they’re only twenty bucks and all proceeds go towards art and music education! So what are you waiting for? Order one of them bad boys now (mine is almost sold out!)!
It’s already October, which means the holidays are just around the corner! This is the perfect time of year to place a commission order for your very own Animal Battle piece. Give the gift of original art to a loved one, or keep it for yourself (you selfish dog, you).
Prices range from $50 – $300. Taking a limited number of orders now! Contact me at email@example.com for more info.
Good Morning, San Francisco.
Hello y’all. Long time no blog.
I’ve just returned from an a lengthy vacation – lots of pool floating, California sunshine, city skylines, and Do Nothing’s. Not even drawing.
I’m refreshed and so excited to be back in the studio and working again, and despite the fact that I haven’t drawn in over a week, I still have a little somethin’ somethin’ to show you.
A friend of mine is quite fond of Narwhals, so for her birthday I whipped up this special Animal Battle creature. You would think this mystical creature is fictional, but in fact that unicorn horn is quite real, and one long snaggle tooth (and usually a front left canine).
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some work to do.
A sale is happening in my shop right now! Save 20% on all prints, comics, and zines in my store with special discount code TALLYHO. It’s the perfect time to finally get your paws on an Animal Battle print!
Sale ends Friday!

Fozzie is the Patch Adams of the Animal Battle world. Laughter is the best medicine, even if the jokes are a little bad. Fozzie means well.

As with all of my paintings, little mistakes are usually made along the way. You can see my adjustments for the mishaps I made while painting young Fozzie.
Fozzie joins the rest of the army over at AnimalBattleArt.com.
